SUMMARY:Okizi (To Heal) Opening Reception
DESCRIPTION:Join us for All My Relations Arts Opening Reception of Okiz
i (To Heal). \n\nOkizi (To Heal)\, is a partner exhibition with the Am
erican Swedish Institute (ASI) in response to the traveling exhibition\
, Arctic Highways: Unbound Indigenous People. A common theme of these d
ual exhibitions is the healing impacts of cultural revitalization. While
efforts were made to separate Native peoples from their spirituality\,
language\, and cultural knowledge and traditions\, Okizi highlights the
revitalization efforts that reconnect this generation and future generat
ions to our language\, land\, and culture as a means of healing from his
torical and generational trauma.\n\nIn collaboration with ASI\, All My R
elations Arts will host Mygration\, an immersive\, large-scale installa
tion of drawings and prints by Sámi artist Tomas Colbengtson and Swedis
h artist Stina Folkebrant\, alongside invited and juried American Indian
artists Keith Braveheart\, Karen Goulet\, Courtney Leonard\, and others
