 “Arikara Proper\,” a solo exhibition of paintings by artist J. Whi
 te.\n\nFeaturing live music from local band Black Widows\, food courtes
 y of Trickster Tacos and more! \n\n6-9pm\; all are welcome to this fr
 ee event. \n\nAbout the exhibition: \n\nA self-taught painter\, J. Whi
 te shares her culture through the lens of an urban Indian. White’s wor
 k depicts and celebrates her Northern Plains culture\, while capturing a
 nd exploring obscure emotions through abstract expressionism. A narrativ
 e painter who works exclusively in acrylic\, White uses vibrant\, colorf
 ul hues and signature stylistics allowing color to shape form and subjec
 t. Through recurring representational elements of stars\, quilts\, buffa
 loes\, horses and Native women\, White showcases empowerment and highlig
