Isabella Benjamin-Quintana

she/they Four Sisters Urban Farm Assistant Manager

Isabella (she/they) was born and raised in South Minneapolis. She recently graduated from Macalester College with a degree in American Studies. Last summer Isabella worked with the Four Sisters’ Urban Farm as a youth intern which allowed her to deepen her understanding of the food sovereignty movement in Minneapolis, connecting with many local urban farms, community growers and local farmers markets. This year, Isabella will step into the Four Sisters Urban Farm Assistant manager position with NACDI and is excited to reconnect with the East Phillips community and grow/connect neighbors with their heritage foods at the farm. Isabella is passionate about centering ancestral foodways particularly as communities understand their relationship to place and culture. She also understands that access to heritage, locally grown foods is vital to community care and health. Isabella enjoys long walks, seed libraries, and cooking her ancestral Oaxacan recipes
