Em Matson is a communications professional born and raised in the Twin Cities. They bring their experience from local organizations like the Webber-Camden Neighborhood Organization, North American Traditional Indigenous Food Systems, the Minneapolis American Indian Center, and the Minnesota Two Spirit Society. Em has a B.A in English and a B.A in Advertising with a minor in Women and Gender Studies from Iowa State University.

 

Em dedicates much of their time to developing and contributing to diverse storytelling spaces. They are a published tabletop roleplaying game (TTRPG), poetry, and comic writer and editor, and have worked on projects like Coyote and Crow. Em developed the first Two Spirit Powwow Zine for the Minneapolis Two Spirit Powwow, a community event that they have helped produce for several years.

 

Sharing resources, celebrating community creativity, and engaging with a variety of traditional and contemporary knowledges is hugely important to Em.
