Anna Bankey, MSW – Therapist Serving Native and BIPOC Communities

Anna Bankey is a compassionate, holistic therapist with a Master’s in Clinical Social Work from Saint Mary’s University of Minnesota and a Bachelor’s in Social Work from The College of St. Scholastica. She brings a rich background in wellness, integrative health, and trauma-informed care, creating therapy that engages both mind and body.

As an independent contractor at Lakeview Behavioral Health, Anna provides in-person therapy in the Brainerd Lakes Area and telehealth services throughout Minnesota. She is trained in EMDR and somatic therapy, blending body-based and brain-focused approaches to support healing. Her eclectic, strength-based style helps clients process emotions, build self-worth, and cultivate self-love.

Anna specializes in co-occurring disorders, trauma, grief and loss, addiction, depression, anxiety, and suicide prevention. Having personally experienced loss through suicide, she brings deep empathy and insight into her work.

A proud multi-racial clinician enrolled at Fond-du-Lac Band of Lake Superior Chippewa, Anna is of Native American, Caucasian, and South American heritage, Anna understands the importance of non-judgmental, culturally sensitive support, especially for Native communities navigating mental health challenges. She draws inspiration from her late mentors, Skip Sandman and Debbie Johnson-Fuller, both Fond-du-Lac members- honoring their guidance in her work today. She works with ages 8 up through elders.

Agencies and organizations seeking BIPOC or Native-focused therapeutic support can rely on Anna to provide culturally aware, trauma-informed care that meets the unique needs of their clients.
