Zintkala Luta (Sacred Bird-Dakota) founded by Dakota elders, our mission is to serve people of Native heritage located in the Twin Cities area by providing educational programming to facilitate community unity and encourage cultural identity through Native culture and language at the center of programming to empower families to have individual success and self-reliance while maintaining and revitalizing a foundation in the heritage, language, and culture.
Our key services include comprehensive gardening education training as part of our mission to promote urban youth agricultural education and community development. We inspire and teach the youth residing in the poorest neighborhoods in Minneapolis toward a green future and reach other neighboring schools as an Indigenous non-profit working toward cultural revitalization, environmental justice, and food security since 2012.

We provide a place for young people to learn fundamentals of how to develop their urban futures where supportive fields will be needed for the Native sector. Since ZL started in 2012, we have reached over 10,000 city residents, teaching cultural support in schools, treatment centers and them how to grow their own produce, harvest, eat nutritiously and learn plant medicinal health.
